Cath & Matt Osborne’s story:
Prior to choosing Teelow Pools, we spent over a year reading pool magazines, searching websites, talking to pool companies all over NSW and researching pools. We had a dream of a 25m lap pool with a swim out area; on our acreage outside of Dubbo. We hoped to be able to build a pool to swim laps, which could also be a pool for our children to play and grow up with the opportunity to love the water as much as we did.
We were regularly disheartened when we started contacting pool companies by their disinterest; unprofessional responses to our queries, unbelievably exorbitant quotes and then stories of pools that leak or have had to be emptied to fix major problems. Then we were encouraged by a pool contractor in Sydney to contact Teelow pools, “Have you called Teelow pools? Chris Teelow knows what he is doing and you won’t be sorry”, were the words of this tradesman.
We called Chris, and he was at our home in days. He listened to us; asked us questions (not many others actually took the time to listen to our dream); he gave suggestions; he took notes and within days we had a quote. He called us to follow up and then came to our home to answer our questions. The quote was well laid out; easy to follow and the price was fixed. We knew exactly what we would need to pay and that is all we were invoiced for. Many others we had enquired to, actually sub-contract many parts of the job and wouldn’t commit to a fixed price; a risk we didn’t want to take. Everything was transparent from the beginning until we were swimming.
Once we signed the contract, Chris had plans drawn up, and over the weeks that followed, the hole was dug; the steel arrived and was tied into place; the concrete was poured; the interior surface was finished; pipes went in all directions; tiles were applied; pumps and heating were installed; and every stage and everyday that this major construction took place, it was done in a professional manner. We always knew what was happening, but never had to worry about anything.
Teelow pools are professionals, their work ethic is amazing and we always felt respected and knew that our property was being respected as well. This is not a comment we could say about all companies and trades we have had in and around our homes before. It was an efficient and seamless process from there, right to the end of construction; we were never aware of any problems (if there were any).
Chris knows so much about pools. There were often times when we would see the pool in progress and have new ideas and thoughts. Chris was always open to listen, and respected our thoughts and then would explain how things worked and why pumps needed to be in certain places and how water moves, and how to ensure the pool would function efficiently…we have had our pool 2 years this month, and he was right – it all works perfectly, it is easy to maintain and everything in and around our pool is “Teelow quality” and that really does mean you a get high quality; reliable; end product, from a company that cares about their workmanship; have the experience, and are accountable for every step of the project.
Tania created a fantastic hand over book and it is now our pool bible. We still refer to it every now and again when we want to check on anything. Chris explained all the equipment, maintenance and ongoing care and although we were beginner pool owners and had a lot to learn, it was comforting to know we had an expert teaching us and a book that said it all when we forgot what Chris said.
Teelow pools built our dream, and when it was all finished it was like they had seen inside our heads; it was PERFECT…everything we had ever imagined; without a worry; but a feeling of involvement, that we did feel we had built our dream as well. Before we knew it, there were sounds of splashing and giggling and hot summer nights were cool and relaxing.
